Take a Chance Day!

Today, we are celebrating Take a Chance Day!

Rather than running down to the store and taking a chance on a handful of lottery tickets in celebration, we wanted to celebrate by thinking about all that can happen when we really take a chance.

10 years ago this month, DLZP Group took its chance when the company was started. Initially hosting a small team of employees, the company faced all of the trials any startup company may encounter. Every team member had to wear many “hats” – working to exceed in areas they may not have been entirely comfortable in. In the early days, everyone working with our founders was taking a chance, and 10 years later we can proudly say that it was a leap worth taking.

When considering some of the biggest names of our times, you would be hard-pressed to find even a small handful who didn’t attribute their success and achievements to the moment they took a chance. If you have an idol or a role-model, odds are they were once risk-takers hoping to see their goals come to fruition.

It is incredibly daunting to take the first steps on the path to any substantial project. Whether it’s a new piece of art you’re approaching, the first steps of buying a home, or a career change on the horizon – we wanted to take this day to encourage everyone to take their own chance.

Taking a chance doesn’t always have to be a leap toward a massive endeavor--maybe your team has an opportunity to take a chance on a new approach to projects, or your company is taking a chance and bringing on new faces to a crucial project. Taking a chance hinges on the belief that it’s okay to do things differently than how they’ve been done – an idea that can be applied to countless facets of our personal and professional lives. The only prerequisite to taking a chance is saying “yes!” to an unexpected opportunity.

Today we wanted to invite everyone to share with a us a time they took a chance. In sharing the stories of our friends and risk-takers, we can uplift and inspire those facing the daunting prospects we’ve all faced at one point or another – and perhaps give them the last nudge they need to take that chance!
