Two DLZP Group employees had the privilege of volunteering at the 2011 South Texas First Lego League Championship Tournament this past Saturday.  The event took place at John H. Reagan High School in Houston, Texas with close to 60 teams from all over the state competing.  The team members were between 9 and 14 years old, and prior to competition, they had to form teams and develop a robot capable of performing tasks.  To reach this level of competition, the teams first competed at the local level and placed high enough to move up.  The winners of this competition will move on to the national competition to be held in St. Louis.   There were numerous awards, comprising an array of categories, including: Robot Performance, Mechanical Design, Innovative Solution, and Gracious Professionalism.  Overall, it was an exciting, spirited competition, and DLZP was thrilled to be a part of it!
